Park Place CMU's WINDOWS

This is the state that Park Place CMU claimed was fit to rent to us. Their pictures on their web site and Google page are not reality. They were told about these conditions, but Park Place CMU does not want to spend the money to fix them. Instead, if you complain, they will blame it on you and then will not renew your lease, then lie and sue you. Seems they have been doing this for a while. Somehow Park Place CMU keeps passing housing “inspections”? Don’t ask me how. Something is not right here. I think Code Enforcement is paid to look the other way.

Park Place CMU: First Bedroom - Window #1 – It is NOT weather tight, and the glass moves inside the frame. Pieces of the plastic that are meant to hold the glass in the frame are missing. The pieces that remain are brittle and they are easily broken (see the video below).

Park Place CMU: First Bedroom - Window #1 - Other Side

Park Place CMU: First Bedroom - Window #2 - It is NOT weather tight, The black areas are MOLD, and the glass moves inside the frame. Pieces of the plastic that are meant to hold the glass in the frame are missing. The pieces that remain are brittle and they are easily broken (see the video below).

Park Place CMU: Second Bedroom - Window #1 – It is NOT weather tight, and the glass moves inside the frame. Pieces of the plastic that are meant to hold the glass in the frame are missing. The pieces that remain are brittle and they are easily broken (see the video below).

Park Place CMU: Second Bedroom - Window #2 – It is NOT weather tight, and the glass moves inside the frame. Pieces of the plastic that are meant to hold the glass in the frame are missing. The pieces that remain are brittle and they are easily broken (see the video below).

Park Place CMU: Living Room - Window #2 – It is NOT weather tight, The black areas are MOLD, and the glass moves inside the frame. Pieces of the plastic that are meant to hold the glass in the frame are missing. The pieces that remain are brittle and they are easily broken (see the video below).

Park Place CMU: Window Frames - This is the state of all plastic pieces that are meant to hold the window glass in. These are some of them that fell out of a window frame here. The plastic pieces in the hallway west facing window are in the same state. I would bet that they are the same throughout the whole complex.

Park Place CMU: West Facing Hallway Window

Park Place CMU: This shows the state of their advertised “window” coverings as rented to my roommate three years ago. They fall and break if you open the shade too fast. Then they cannot be put back up. Park Place CMU refused to replace them and made us purchase new ones for those missing from the kitchen window when they rented the apartment to us.

The Storm that Damaged the Bedroom Wall - 5/15/2025

PICTURES:

Park Place CMU's Advertised "Window" Coverings - I opened the blinds, and this slat fell off and broke. Park Place CMU will not replace them. They will make you buy them even though Park Place CMU rented you the apartment this way (with slats so brittle that you are afraid to open the blinds).

Park Place CMU's Advertised "Window" Coverings - Opps! Another one fell down, I guess I shouldn’t have opened the blinds!

Park Place CMU's Advertised "Window" Coverings - Don't complain! If you do then your lease will not get renewed!

Park Place CMU: Window - Bedroom 01 - That white line is the sunlight from the outside. The moulding that keeps the  window glass secure in the frame cracked and fell off. I wonder if ALL the windows leak?

Park Place CMU: Window - Bedroom 01 - The moulding that keeps the window glass secure is missing.

Window - Bedroom 01 - Here are the pieces that fell off.

Park Place CMU: Window - Kitchen - When moulding pieces come off this is how they “fix” it. Notice the mold!

Park Place CMU: Window - Kitchen - Once again, notice the mold!

Park Place CMU: Window - Kitchen - If a piece falls off, don't replace it, caulk it!

Park Place CMU: Window - Kitchen - Look at the professional workmanship!

Park Place CMU: Window 1  - Living Room - I wonder why their electric (heat) bill was high? Again, look at the mold!

Park Place CMU: Window 1 - Living Room - Close up, look at the mold!

Park Place CMU: Window 1 - Living Room - The edge of the window glass, and you can see that it is anything but weather tight as required by City Code (IPMC)!

Park Place CMU: Window 1 - Living Room - I wonder when the glass will fall out and cut, main, or kill someone? Look at the mold!

Park Place CMU: Window 1 - Living Room - Close up, Again, look at the mold!

Park Place CMU: Window - Living Room - They're so weather tight that water is making the seal crack!

Park Place CMU: Window 2 - Living Room - They're so weather tight that water is making the seal crack! And, of course, the plastic things that are supposed to keep the window glass in are cracked and falling out! look at the mold!

Park Place CMU: Window 2 - Living Room - Look at the mold!

Park Place CMU: Window 3 - Living Room - Look at the mold!

Park Place CMU: Window 3 - Living Room - Look at the mold!

Park Place CMU: Pieces of the blinds and the plastic pieces that are supposed to hold the glass in the window frame. Thats mold on them pieces!

Park Place CMU: plastic pieces that are supposed to hold the glass in the window frame, more mold!

Park Place CMU: Stove - Seal falling off and into stove.

Park Place CMU: Stink Bugs- The windows frames are so “weather tight” that STINK BUGS enter when the windows are closed!

Park Place CMU: Stink Bugs- Hey Stinky! How’d you get inside? Did you crawl into a crack between the window frame and the building?!

Park Place CMU: Hallway Window East Facing - Looks like this window is not weather tight either, and there was a stink bug party!

Park Place CMU: Hallway Window East Facing - What is going on here? Is that the way it is supposed to look?

Park Place CMU: Hallway Window East Facing - WTF and I lookin' at here! They sure keep this place well maintained.

Park Place CMU: Hallway Window West Facing - I wonder when this windows glass will fall out and maybe decapitate someone? Why inspect the hallway? The inspectors are only here to inspect the tenants, and NOT Park Place CMU. God, forbid Park Place CMU gets cited!

Park Place CMU: Hallway Window West Facing - Who wants to bet that Park Place CMU passes the housing "inpection" on 5/6/2025?

Park Place CMU: Hallway Window West Facing - Just a matter of time before the glass falls out and the window pane is about six foot up!
